Christmas Eve Poem by Floy Dy Ra Aka Floyd Floydson

Christmas Eve

Rating: 5.0

It was early Christmas Eve
I just started with the Bockwurstkür
The bells ring and the Christkind said 'n'Abend'
And stood in front of the door
I asked him to come in
He froze and seemed visibly cool
Quickly made him a hot grog
And asked what he was playing
He reported of long human serpents
Who were always looking for gifts
Of cold and storm on his journey
Yes, also of snow, which trickled softly
He saw much suffering and countries in the war
And it seemed to him as if here was consumption
I listened attentively to him
And begged him to sit down
And gave him plenty of food
He was surprised when he saw our food
But with us there was a long tradition:
To eat hot sausage only with potato salad
He asked: 'Do you have the sharp mustard? '
Of course, but first you'll drink the grog
So that you will be warm inside
And tell us what is difficult to remember
Of deep snow in earlier times
Of snowball battles and the hoarfrost
The cold, who liked to sit on branches and firs
And danced with the wind in the snowstorm
A colorful dance - also the lakes frozen
And you could skating, but today
Culminates only in the purchase of gifts
We drank some mulled wine with him
But then he wanted to go home
We offered him quarters here overnight
So still the Christkind was with us also
Christmas here, it still remained
The second Christmas day, we laughed a lot with him
We did not have any gifts
But we have a new friend
And soon he will ring at your´s home too
Just let him in...
