Christmas Day Poem by christy york

Christmas Day

Mom told us 'Time to go to sleep
Or Santa will not come'.
So off to bed we headed,
All were anxious for the dawn.
But too excited to go to sleep
As thoughts raced through our heads
Of all the gifts we were to get
This year from Santa's sled.
We listened for the jingle bells
From Santa's reindeer sleigh,
Till eventually we fell asleep
To wake on Christmas day.
While racing to the Christmas tree
To see if Santa came
We yell out to our Mom and Dad
'there's presents with our name'.
We tore off all the wrapping
to reveal the gift inside,
It was the greatest Christmas ever
'Cause we all made lists this time.
