A Single Tear Poem by christy york

A Single Tear

As I sat on the grass I looked up to the sky
An Angel then appeared
She flew from the Heavens with you in her arms
Down my cheek ran a single tear.
As she placed you carefully into my womb
The Heavenly trumpets did play
In a song she sang to me 'Keep her safe till her special day'.
And on that day the Angel appeared
Again the trumpets did play
She said 'Our Lord wills this child to be born
And this is her special day'.
Down my cheek ran a single tear for I knew it was all up to me
I would bring you gently into this world
For all creation to see.
As she held you softly in her arms
In my heart I hold you dear
She looked at me and gave me a smile
Down my cheek ran a single tear.
