Children Of God Poem by Randy McClave

Children Of God

If your child needed change, or a dollar
Would you complain and holler,
Or would you give a smile and not say a word
Remembering the child, that you had heard.

If your child needed food to eat
Would you buy them bread and also meat,
Or would you decide that they would not be fed
Would you ignore them, until they were dead.

If on the street your brother had to sleep
Would you worry and would you weep,
Or would not care for him on the asphalt
Would your condolences be, it's his own fault.

Would you be welcomed in your parents house
Or would you be released, like the grouse,
Would your child or your brother be welcomed in yours
Or would you lock up all of your windows, and doors.

We all are the children of the one true God
We all are brothers and sisters from the same sod,
God is our father, and in his house he wants us in
And to not help our brothers and sisters, it is a sin.
