Cherish Poem by Angharad Davies

Cherish

Rating: 5.0

When I was young
I saw Love hanging from a bough
Like a star burning bright

When I grew tall enough to reach it
I grabbed it with both hands
And ran around devouring it

Now I am fat
And lazy with Love
I yearn for that cherished first bite

But I like the line 'Love is wasted on the young, ' and I think this is true. As we age we can appreciate those 'first bites' so much more. There is always a new 'first bite.' Go for it! Marilyn
