Chasing Shadows Poem by Crepino Zembere

Chasing Shadows

I run in the night, you see us together
Chasing the moonlight on our sight
With our shades before running with us
Mixed with a complicated bunch of losers

For times I have been looking for you
For an instant I have been walking through
Waiting and searching for something true
Not the mere road I have been walking to

The shadows I have seen of my past
Then shadows of my future at last
That I do follow with ineptness in futility
Like a fish lying in the hottest desert
While chasing my desire which I know not

My life, my dreams that I have been through
I have been chasing shadows at my own sight
Leally running away from my old life
To escape and forget all the pain of my past

Now I hope I will lie in that green forest
And I see you taking me down your shadows within
Through the silence blocked by a bird far in the field
Perhaps we may dream while lying in those shadows
