Change Or Not? Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Change Or Not?

CHANGE OR NOT?
Have you cried, for someone else than you?
Do you in God believe?
What have you done, what do you do?
What would you best achieve?

Look at yourself, what do you see?
Although seems nothing strange
What would you do, if you were free
What on you, would you change?

Would you indeed, transform your face?
Wealthy, choose not to die?
Or seek God's love, Salvation's grace?
With Jesus rise on high?

What is precious, and what is not?
What verges on sublime?
What on earth, should be best forgot
A complete waste of time

Love wants to spare you from the grave
Tender you living health
Grace will your precious soul save
Granting spiritual wealth

Spare some thought, right here and now
What or should not be there?
Would shame form sweat pearls on your brow
The whole wide world to share

One day this truly will occur
If Jesus remains unknown
If the devil, is life's chauffeur
In judgement. you'll stand alone

Soon life's Piper we all must pay
Look deep inside once more
Will you then smile, or cry that day?
At eternity's open door.....
