Cauvery River - A Bone Of Contention Poem by M. Asim Nehal

Cauvery River - A Bone Of Contention

Rating: 4.9

Two states are fighting tooth and nail,
Over a natural water stream
That has made its own course to flow
While the river knows no bound
We humans seldom understand it
One state wants to hold the water by building dams
While the land of other state waits for its share
Joy of the river is broken to pieces
The lawyers are fighting in courtrooms
Papers and files are piling up
Leaders have their own agenda
Reformists and social activists are on "Dharna"
Land and Farmers are in full hope
But no one is concerned about the river.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dharna: a way of showing your disagreement with something by refusing to leave a place.

A very selfish act. We humans will remain insane and blindfolded by the greed.
