Catari, Che, Yukon Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Catari, Che, Yukon

Catari, Che, Yukon

Once:
There was a hero; named Tomas Catari
(A serpent, fast current, in winding)
He was an Aymara
Claimed rights as a chief,
He led the uprising in Peru.
Greedy invader was miner; Alvares.
Captured him on orders, from justice.
He was killed, grand child was with Che.

Right and wrong are the beads, rosary’s, in a chain.
Like the hills in plains, unlike the prairie… mirror; fake…

Now:
Talk is of watershed in Yukon
Its name Peel, similar story.

Both with courts
But this one in CANUS.

I wonder what may come after the TRC!
Will chief be another Catari?
Let’s wait, see…
