Casualty Of Love Poem by Linda Barnes

Casualty Of Love

How can we keep
From becoming empty
In a life we believed
Was perfect

Growing in love
And learning to be
Important to someone
Other than yourself

When there is a death
You will mourn the loss
Of a loved one
For life

When you lose
Through separation
Or Divorce, there is no
Recipe for that loss

This loss is still
Earth shattering
Lives turned upside down
With no sense of direction

You learn to forgive
So you can move on
Without becoming a
Casualty of Love
