Carminative

Looking to do with the reddish colour,
'carminative' is quite the deceiver:
from the Latin for 'to card', 'to comb out',
one is actually a flatulence reliever.

Cumin is one; caraway too.
The latter tastes better to most.

To see if they work:
fry onion with cumin
and spread it on caraway toast.
