Care For Peace Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Care For Peace

I dream of nights when silence reigns
Where peace anoints what once was pain
And wonder how we now proceed
In light of all that anger feeds
I battle life to answers rhymes
To all that ails your heart and mind
You want that I should blindly please
A burden I don’t think is mine
If you’re not complete without me
You will never be pleased with me
I strive each day to comfort you
But your contentment is all on you
Your lack of sunlight infringes on me
And threatens dreams of harmony
I don’t need you to make me happy
I just need you to care for peace
I dream of nights when we’re alone
Two souls in search of peaceful songs
And question how we can agree
To be, and let each other breathe
I battle life to understand
This faith you toss around like sand
Amused that you are so dismayed
A distraction I don’t care to play
If you are not complete with your trinity
You will never be truly pleased with me
I work so hard to be honest and true
But your inner happiness is all on you
Your lack of vision encumbers me
Destroying dreams of harmony
I don’t need you to set me free
I just need you to care for peace
