Capitalism Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Capitalism

Capitalism is greed.
Capitalism is theft.
Capitalism is deception.
That is why it is called capitalism.
Capitalizing on the weaknesses of others.
While having them believe,
Opportunities exist for all.
In a democratic way to display,
Everyone is included...
To seek whatever they delude.
And this they can do for as long as they wish.
With a doing to perceive their entitlement.
Kept fantasized to personalize dreams.
Whether they are liberal or conservative,
To socialize in a denied socialistic atmosphere.
Although not admitted,
Is a social behavior...
Long normalized to have been permitted to exist.

"What are they protesting against? "

-The socialized normality of their lives.-

"None of this makes any sense."

-Of course it doesn't.
But today...
What does?
Trillions of dollars are owed.
And sinking to deeper depths and yet,
People are cheering how great the economy is.-

"For who? "

-Those who protest,
Their debts should be kept to themselves.
And sharing this they consider a threat.-

"None of this makes any sense."

-And...
Why should it?
Only those unconscious,
Are more concerned about a quality of life...
They can credit to debts.
And made to feel threatened,
By those wishing to share...
Ways they can turn this nonsense around.-

"But...
Wouldn't that make more sense? "

-For who?
That would be common sense to use.
And these days that to do,
Is obviously not that common.-
