Candlelight Poem by Katherina Palomo

Candlelight

Time is running out for me,
I guess I will never be free,
Dark thoughts start to spread,
Darkness is where I was led,

One small light I can't find,
Although, darkness I don't mind,
The pain I embrace,
My heart seems to be in a race,

I pant and fall,
The devil is too tall,
I need to run,
he says its for fun,

I try to hit him with all my might,
But I can't remove that menacing smile from my sight,
I'm know this is my final fight,
because my eyes flick towards the dying candlelight.
