Can you change?

Can you change friend?
yes at the end,
can you change neighbor?
no, even if he harbors ill will

this is a stark reality
and it takes place in our life's journey
unwillingly we carry on
but worry makes us frown

the life is at a crossroad
and we try to shed
the differences even if it exists
and show less interest

friends can be shown the exit
but we have to exist
side by the neighbors
and adjust with minor differences

what if it assumes great significance?
and there is no likelihood of any chance
to come in terms
and turn the hostile stance
