Bypassed Fortune Poem by Alexzia Ferdinand

Bypassed Fortune

i went to a chinese restaurant
today, selected my meal
then ate.
not seeing the lucky little cookies
with slips of paper that
would've told me what
i'm doing wrong and
what i should be doing right
(along with the fact
that my significant numbers
are 9,44, and 11)
maybe had i noticed
or eaten enough fortune cookies
my life would be fully changed
and you would be there waiting
for me when i got home
from my
wholly unlucky, non-fortuous
chinese food.
