[ ] Bye Poem by Dani Miller

[ ] Bye

I try to stray away from it,
But it always finds me anyway.
That dreadful goodbye will not
Leave me alone.
It sears through my flesh and
Leaves its marking behind.
As if to let the world know
'Good-bye is this girls life'
I can't stand good bye.
How I wish it would die.
Just to leave and to never come back,
Then maybe I could smile a bit.
But everytime that smile comes up,
It is made sure to be demolished
By another good bye.

Goodbye brings two things.
And once you think about it,
It really does.
You either have a goodbye when you
Won't see someone for a long time.
Or it catches up to you casually,
And you don't know until later that
You won't talk to that person for a while.
This concept may not be the same for you.
But its pretty clear as to what it wants
From me.

That good bye caught up to me earlier,
I didnt realize that it came out of me
Until just now.
Why do you think I am writing this?
If I could have caught it before it came
Then I might be talking to you right now.
But I must live with my choice,
Until it decides its had enough
Fun with my heart.
How did Good Bye come to be?
For me its not a GOOD bye at all.
Its a bye that holds uncertainty
Throughout every minute afterwards.
Well whoever is reading this,
I'm not losing you to.
So until the next time we speak,
Peace.
