By The Lake Poem by Paul Reed

By The Lake

Shadows lengthen and slowly fall

Twilight settles on our skin

The night creatures start their dancing

And we shiver within;

There is quietness here

A sense of nothingness and peace

The world standing still

To give us temporary release;

Let the time gently pass

The day into night evolve

The waters lap over our feet

And gently our fears dissolve.
