But Still Poem by Mark E Webster

But Still

Rating: 5.0

Aspiration and success
Could not motivate me less
As if in life I have to move,
To want, to hope, to build, to prove
Trailing stars that set the pace
To climb, to grasp, to fight, to race
Some distant light, some shimmering line
Against the odds, within the time
While those who count their trappings will
Leave me behind, without, but
Still.
