But Did You See Her Eyes? Poem by Mary Grace

But Did You See Her Eyes?

Her lips are not worth the effort of a kiss
Her tongue dare not name this
Nor would ever taste it or realize
But did you see her eyes?

Her ears are all too small
To be part of her body at all
They share their silent alibis
Between both of them; her eyes

Her nose! Her nose! Her nose!
Her pen dare not compose
And closed be both of them as she dies:
Her eyes! Her eyes! Her eyes!
