'Bringing In The Sheaves' Poem by Fran Spear

'Bringing In The Sheaves'

Rating: 5.0

You're gone
my mom
You stayed as long as you could
and me, the one who cared for you
all the years
all the tears
the two of you, my dearest mom and dad
and I didn't even get to say good-bye to you
at the end
you were just gone

Mother's Day I read my poems, my Bible
to the Psalms, your favorite one
saying you sang it out as a child
'We shall come singing -
bringing in the sheaves'

95 years you adorned this world and made it such a better place.

I miss you dear Mom
singing - 'We shall come singing -
bringing in the sheaves'

Nor can I cry, for you feel yet here? not gone, not gone
nor dad, not gone, not gone

Missing you both on 'Mother's Day'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
She's gone but not gone, just not gone - I can't say it, so long she was here and made such a place for my children, for me, for all she knew, and she lived in a garden of beautiful flowers she grew for us all.
