Brainbox Poem by Paula Glynn

Brainbox

Rating: 5.0

Tick tock, tick tock,
Goes my brain,
As I gather information at high speed,
And for kicks, feel the need,
Like a junkie needs a prick of the needle,
To get that high, like a sugar rush,
Where I feel a crush, rise up like a snake,
In my brain,
And make this mind go insane,
As I go from situation to situation,
Picking up information like a microchip,
That is stored forever,
And I know I have gotten it together,
For I am more normal, than I could ever be,
And I read the clock like a script,
And know I must get my skates on and go,
For I know I need these material things,
To make my heart flutter like a dove and sing,
And I am a brainbox that needs books,
And every book I read, at the cover,
I only take one look and read,
For I gather information faster than you could imagine,
And I am as free as a bird.

And I read the clock like a script, This idea is very new to me. Only a poet can think this way. Anyway, man becomes machine chased by the clock, you have chalked it out very skilfully. Well poet, we will get some more of such offbeat thoughts in future also. Be with writing long....... Apoet Bangla
