Both The Heart And Head Poem by Naveed Akram

Both The Heart And Head

In both my heart and head is a mattress to sleep on,
Falling away, I am no longer scared, I am on par.
I lock my persona in a hold that comforts mind and soul,
The mind and soul, the souls and minds conquer monthly.
In the shadows of the darkness I weep towards my toes,
Unlike the sun and planets, those objects of action in the cosmos.

I am not stronger than most celestial bodies, but I shine,
Further than the stars, farther is my reach with eyes of gold.
Both the sleeping and the dreaming are housed in the common
Space we call the Universe, a ground to eating and drinking.
The spacecraft is waiting to take my soul and mind away,
Dropping me in sleep of the eternal reign, the eternal fame.
