Bobby Tillman, “her Baby Is Gone” (In Memorial) Poem by Luke Easter

Bobby Tillman, “her Baby Is Gone” (In Memorial)

Bobby Tillman, Monique Rivarde’s 18 year-old son,
Viciously attacked at a party out numbered by 4 to 1,
A blow so hard it broke a bone that pierced his heart,
However, from incident there’s a more intriguing part.

One hundred others actually just stood and looked on,
Standing in the driveway, street, sidewalk, the lawn,
A party became a homicide scene November 6,2010,
Douglasville, Ga., another innocent life, a tragic end.

5 feet,6 inches tall, he antagonized no one but then,
Attacked, punched, kicked, stomped to death, when,
One hundred bystanders, right 100 and not even one,
Raised no more than an eye brow and so it was done.

True, the unprovoked beating is a crime on it’s own,
But the multitude watching and they left him alone,
Aren’t these teens just as guilty as though to partake,
Like 100 watching a 4 on 1 while someone is raped.

Quantaz Mallory, Horace Coleman, Tracen Franklin,
Ages 18,19,18 then 19 year-old Emanuel Boykins,
Being held without bond at the Douglas County Jail,
Oh! If only they weren’t and I had cash to post bail.

Monique Riverdale, distraught single mother of two,
For other mom’s has vowed to do all that she can do,
There’s a focus to end the violence & that’s good but,
Year after year after year crimes, like this only go up.

Sadly, “her baby is gone” but not forgotten of course,
And still in these instances attackers show no remorse,
Assisting in a church play about, “bullies” last week,
Might this be the reason Bobby’s killers would seek?

It’s time to prosecute these thugs like it’s done in Iran,
Because in this country we have done all that we can,
Here’s a reason Muslim countries have low crime rates,
For crap like this death & nothing less will be your fate.
