Blue Eyes (Set) Poem by Weldon Davis

Blue Eyes (Set)

His blue eyes set
On the pain he can't get past
A loud laugh
A Har-de-Har
He writes poetry for fun
In reality he's a star
Shining bright for all to see
Held down behind bars
Longing to be free
He is the caged bird
Who sings
Maya Angelou would be inspired
He's admired
For the most part
A kindred soul
Who sees life
Through many aspects
His plate full of problems
Yeah.
Problems
So hard to forget
As he sits
On his bunk
Pen in hand
With blue eyes
