Mentor Poem by Weldon Davis

Mentor

I will take you under
My wings
Teach you things
To keep you safe
Like a mentor
A mental defender
I've made so many mistakes
Take my foot off
The accelerator
Ride the brakes
I'll teach ya life lessons
Lessons
Are for free
I'll be that dude
That'll teach ya the rules
On how to be
Everything that I'm not
Cause I can not
For the life of me
Lead by example
Yet
I can show you
What not to do
Like the polar opposite
Of
A Mentor

Thank you sir...This poem is about me stepping up and doing the right things cause whether I want it or not I'm setting an example; not only for my daughter, but for countless youths who look to me for guidence
