Blind Version 2 Poem by Paula Glynn

Blind Version 2

I had been blind,
But I had been one of a kind,
I don't know what went wrong;
To the world,
I was supposed to belong,
But time moves forwards,
Memories of dark days,
Days of tears and a broken heart,

Too blind to see the truth,
Hopeless and alone,
Without a loving home,
Or at least a warm town,
To explore and roam,

For supposed friends tricked me,
Played mind games,
Not always best,
To have fame;
To be a known name,

Because blind I have been,
Broken hearts I have seen,
And bought the T-shirt,
My life having gotten worse,
With the crying and the hurt,

But we're all worth it,
As L'Oreal always say,
And it is true,
For blind does not always equal the end,
Happiness can happen,
Where no one is fake nice,
And only pretend.

Blind is the heart,
Blind I have been,
My soul has been lost,
But I have found,
An inner angel again,
To guide me down,
That dark path,
Towards truth and wisdom,
My heart bursting with love,

That life of hardship,
Never leaving some,
But for me those days are over,
Having been done,
And having let others,
Have their primitive fun,

For it is a new day,
And I am no longer blind,
To see hearts warm and kind,
And wholesome,
With no secret agenda,
And no games to play.

So I open my eyes,
And I really do realize,
That I am blind no longer,
And this heart is stronger,
Myself my ultimate hero,
And here forever,
Never giving up,
Like the stars that come out at night.
