Bleeding Heart Poem by Monica O'Connor

Bleeding Heart

Rating: 5.0

Theres a bleeding heart in the garden; how appropriate.
I dont know where my lines got crossed and I
wish I could fully erase the lead mark you made.

I'm juvenille and naive, everthing must be made clear.
I can't wait; I dont want to have to.
I wish I didn't want to; wish I wasn't willing to wait.

I don't know where my lines got crossed;
I don't know where I fell off.

The bleeding heart shimmies in the sunlight.
I didn't know what it was until you told me;
How coincidental, how cliche,
how poetic.

All my resentment is in these words,
and I'm irrational,
and thats right; I'm sorry.
My facade will replace my breakdown, and all things nice will return.
but I'm not so naive; I'll trust again
but gingerly; and I'll love again, I'm just not sure when.
And I'll apologize for all the things I've left unsaid,
for those are all the sinful things that count.

Ah, a testament, at its worst.
There's a bleeding heart in the garden; how appropriate

Such a wonderful poem! ! ! It was beautifully written and deeply emotional! ! I've read few works from Monica, but in all these few works, I'm sure, she has a great talent to write poems.The way she describes her feelings through the poetic language is amazing and wonderful! ! 'Bleeding Heart' is a great poem.And words like: 'where I fell off...I'm naive' shows those strong feelings hidden inside her soul which is very normal for a poet, no matter, if a man or a woman.
