Black Red Rose Poem by Lerato Khalemethe

Black Red Rose

Rating: 4.5

They say the eyes are the windows to your soul
Look into my eyes and see a dark soul
Yes I fake smiles but when you all gone
I become a black rose with a sharp thorn
Yes I need help that we both know
Because brokeness and pain is what I do own
Don't judge me we all have our demons
But still I bow down and beg for forgiveness
I seek light in christ the redeemer
Because only he can take a black rose and transform her
And what was once known as a black rose is now a red rose
A brand new creature just like the time he died then he rose
Nothing can ever separate me from my God
Because the truth is in dark black lonely times He is all I need He is all I got.
