Birds On The Wing Poem by Ananta Madhavan

Birds On The Wing

Two birds on the wing, flying north
For a drink or a splash or just to escape
The quest for an imaginary home:
A refuge from the seeking of refuge.

The birds flew off at dawn; they did not care
To test our sympathy. My fleeting thoughts,
Devoid of cogent words, left no imprint,
Like wing-tracks vanishing in a sky-scape.
