Birdie Orchestra Poem by Kaki Venugopala Rao

Birdie Orchestra

BIRDIE ORCHESTRA

Anassembly of birds
Gathered on rows of trees,
Birds of varied hues
And different sizes,
Some visible from tree-branches,
Some invisible amidst leaves,
All birds in unison,
Offering their vocal performance;
A nightingale cooing, acrow cawing,
A flock of sparrows chirping,
A couple of tiny birds chattering,
A few strange birds whistling,
Some unique birds twittering;
"What a hell of noise in the morning/"
Somebody in our neighborhood cried,
But I feel it is not a hell of noise.
It's indeed a heaven of enthralling melodies,
A pleasant, birdie orchestra
Welcoming the day, hailing the Sun
Peeping in the East, awakening folks
To the beautiful, blossoming morning.
