Betrayal Poem by Lydie Mathers

Betrayal

Words once spoken in earnest trust revoked and embittered by encorperating lusts.

Dreams once seen in harmony combined now shattered on the dirty floor and left behind.

Helpless and bereft hopeless and adrift.

Life once together now separate they spend.

Nights drifting into days cold and grey. Love has been betrayed.

The anguish of her soul is bright and raw a heart encased in ice will not easily thaw.

He has no soul he feels no regrett he cares nothing for the broken things that he left.

There was a time when happiness soared but it has been defeated and is no more.
