Beneath Your Spell Poem by Ron Knight

Beneath Your Spell

A voice comes from the darkness
with words of sweet delight
that beckon me to follow her
beyond the pale moonlight
soft hands to lead me on my way
and guide my foot along
to taste her honey flavored breath
and join her in a song
I find that I'm beside myself
before these crumbing walls
no helper for me will be found
I stumble til I fall

Oh woman of deception
why do you treat me so
why do you bring me to this place
to deal a bitter blow
your lips are soft as silk
your tongue as smooth as glass
your promise of perfection
I know will shortly pass
yet when I am beneath your spell
I know I cannot run
there is no place I'd rather be
beneath the setting sun

Your kiss I've longed to taste
your bite I've welcomed in
I know that I can't let you go
your underneath my skin
we fall into each others arms
we share in loves embrace
I'm where I always want to be
there is no better place
in the morning light I wake
and my head begins to spin
all I have left to remember you by
is the bottle you were in
