Being-Caged Bird Poem by Mary Mc Creath

Being-Caged Bird

Rating: 5.0

Why am I not free?
To be…
The person that I want
To be?

Why must I feel tied?
To what I was?
What is the cause?
That I am not free,
To be - me?

I long to break the
Bond
That ties me to,
Doing the things the way
I do.

If only I could see,
Just
What it is that keeps
Me blind.
That does not let me
Find
The knot that ties
Me,
To the things I do.

Bird in a cage freer
Tis than
I
It knows the reason
Why,
It cannot fly,
Back to the sky.

I seeing not what
Holds me.

Yearn!
To be free
Yearn!
To be free

A great poem ! The cry of the heart to be free to do the things he/she wants to do. Why can't we do what we love to do? We are bound..We have to find the reasons that bind our wings. Poet says- -A bird in cage is freer than this I It knows the reason why, it can not fly back to the sky - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Poet says at last that when we lack our yearn for freedom, we can never be free. Yearn to be free yearn to be free

Beautifully expressed with the cry from your heart and soul for freedom of mind and spirit to change your life for what you want and to fly to open skies and not hide in the clouds any longer! Great write!
