Behind The Mask Poem by Rajendra padhi

Behind The Mask

BEHIND THE MASK

The faces of the day change at night
The wolf in our veins, the tiger in eyes,
The blood-thirsty lips in viewless dark
Fire from guns breath out pen of love,
The heaven is lovely far from our reach
Fling away peace of earth in dirty ploys.

They sit in the jungle, sick for a plan
Under a tree blighted in snowy eve,
The rebels in a flow of words like wind
Darken thoughts of seers, lie out life,
Move to the market square from hills
People like birds unaware of falcons,
So worldly in give and take fall a pray
The man in mask blows off a bomb.

The cigarette fell off from my lips
The chill of winter blazed with summer,
The smoke and the fire blinded my eyes
Police came there to see the corpse.

Distantly I have struggled for reasons
And mute as an orphan in the street,
At night under the crescent moon
Solitary I move talking to the breeze,
Why do we grow dark in little life?
