Age is just a state of mind
And this we know for sure -
It isn't like some rare disease
For which there is no cure;
It creeps upon us silently
To catch us unaware
And while we worry about getting old
We're already getting there;
But there's a consolation
To this thing called getting old -
Our hair will turn to silver
And our teeth will turn to gold;
Age is just a state of mind
A case of brain and brawn -
Before we realize the body is shot
The mind will already be gone!
Brilliant, one of your best by far, flow is good and words concise, well done.
Very Betjemanesque, he wrote a very different but equally as good poem called 'Senex' about getting old. Your poem is super, witty rhyming and a clean lyrical rhythm.
Linda, you summed it up in the very first line, 'age is just a state of mind.'
Linda, I completely disagree ... but, could you repeat that please ... - - - what was beautiful?
Ah, the playful Ms. Ori in action. Darn near peed myself laughing. Oh. oh...loss of bladder control; another sign of getting older. A terse, comical little corker. Top drawer material, to be sure. How about giving us Part II; it would no doubt be most welcome. Cheers, Greg
Linda, Yes, Age is just a state of mind. Hurray! Let's break all the mirrors! Very clever poem. I enjoyed it. love, Allie XXX

I would like to translate this poem
Good poem on aging. Just for some added hope - I had a man in my Creative Writing class who was 96 and sharp as a tack. So we all have hope that it can be that way with us, too. Take care. Sincerely, Connie Webb
