Beauty In A World So Torn Poem by Tatianna Rei Moonshadow

Beauty In A World So Torn

Rating: 5.0

There is fog across the ground
As I stare out past the glass
I staunch out a cigarette
And stare down at the ash
Words falling from my fingers
Onto a clear white page
Worn from erasing
All the thoughts from this age
Such horribly troubled times
Befalling this old earth
Many choose to ignore it
And others to cover it with mirth
Yet you cannot hide pollution
You cannot cover up war and plague
Peace has become yet a vision
And that vision has grown vague
So I write this poem
I write it with all my heart
Hoping that some beauty
Can keep this world from falling apart

amen to your poem that is a prayer for peace and developing a just social consciousness. I wrote quite a few poems with political and social themes, but erroneously withheld them from posting them here at Poemhunter. You have motivated me to change my mind. Thank you.
