Be Brave My Son Poem by Sandra Regan

Be Brave My Son

Rating: 5.0

Ancestors at your side every single day.
Loved always, don't forget these words I say.
Wise young boy, with eyes of green.
Aim for the right and don't be mean.
You are my love yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Stand straight my son, cause no one sorrow.

Beware of cute gals, short skirts, and winking eyes.
Each day brings challenges, I tell you no lies.

Be brave my son, sweet child of mine.
Run fast if needed and walk a straight line.
Align with the truth when questions arise.
Visit distant places with wide open eyes.
Every place and thing has it's place and time.

Say a prayer, respect others, and read between lines.
We'll go to the beach and you'll board NorCal snow.
'Easy Does It', said grandma, she loved you so.
Watch the moon and wish on a falling stars.
Tattooed like grandpa, but don't hit the bars.

Capture good memories, forgive and forget.
Hold open doors, remember names of those you've met.
I'm at your side always, you're never alone.
Look toward the Pacific when you're looking for home.
Don't drunk drive, or text drive, face fear in the face.

One drink, two drinks? Watch your pace.
Fast cars? Now please be careful with your ride.

Military is a balance, take it in stride.
I'll love you always, each and everyday.
Never regret the words you say.
Eager family awaits, come back safe to The Bay.
