Be As We Be Poem by Alyssa Long

Be As We Be

Hearts and heads
Like parachutes
Work best when inflated,
Open to break the fall.
Grasping for air,
Enveloping every breath
With gratitude.

Hands and words
Like shovels
Dig deep into the crust,
Excavating the best from all.
Hands and words
Unveil the past,
Opening ground
To pave the future.

Feet and passion
Like trains
Travel furthest and swiftest
When guided in the right direction,
And when fueled
With burning persistence.

Parachutes
Like shovels
Like trains
Enable us to push the limits;
Enable us to break
Ground of untraveled terrain;
Enable us to venture
Beyond our comfort zone;
Enable us our freedom.

Always moving forward never looking back, I can see a moral application to life through here.
