Barn On Route 66 Poem by Marilyn Lott

Barn On Route 66

I’ve looked at many barns
As I’ve driven all around
Barns have wonderful stories
As they perch on fertile ground

But red is the color I love
With a brilliance and a glow
Oh yes, they call out to me
And I truly love them so

And right along Route 66
There’s a barn that I admire
I could look at it forever
It’s a sight I will never tire

For not only is this barn red
But it also is perfect round
When we first laid eyes on it
You could not hear a single sound

I know you would love as well
To see a barn such as this
Head for Arcadia now, folks
It’s right along Route 66!
