Bad Dreams Poem by Christine Ann Young

Bad Dreams

I can never run
I can never scream
I can never cry when in my dreams
When it hurts so bad I can't get away
I can't get away

I can never run in the deepest night
While the thunder roars and the lightening strikes
And my heart is still, but it leaves me weak
But it leaves me weak

I can never scream at the onset of doom
When they come at me from every room
With my eyes wide open I can only see
I can't close my eyes

I can never cry when I see you there
When I reach for you and you disappear
Yes, my eyes are dry, but the tears are there
But the tears are there
