B-Actress Poem by Randy McClave

B-Actress

When they believed her every word
And when they believed what sounded ludicrous and absurd,
They didn't believe her because of her stories or of her fears
They just believed her, because of her tears.

When she said she was emotionally and physically abused
When she pointed her finger at the falsely accused,
They believed her not because of words that she had said
They believed her because she was a weeping woman instead.

When they looked and gazed at her with her makeup on
When they didn't realize it was a lie and a con,
And then when at her when they were whispering and staring
They only believed her because of the makeup that she was wearing.

When she gave the jury her testimony
We laughed and sighed to a story which we knew was phony
And we shook our heads and we did quip
As though she was reading her story from a script.

When she accused while pointed and said the guilt belonged to he
As though speaking from a scene from a B rated movie,
They then believed her from her acting in her distress
They just believed her, because she was a movie actress.
