Back On Track Poem by Doris Cornago

Back On Track

Had laughter for a few minutes
Antidote for rainy days coming
We've had our fun amidst the rain
Now we're back to where we begin

Looking for love in a neat package
Wasn't how the game played out
We hated and we loved in between
Didn't know it's an altogether bargain

You are smart and funny, but mostly
Couldn't be bothered for the details
You'd go in and out, be gone for days
When you're back, I'm back on track.

'Back on Track'
For all those wanting love
Happy Father's Day to our dear fathers, husbands and partners

Back On Track
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
You might have a picture perfect notion of what love is but the opposite is true; love is a mismatch, the one you love does not love you back with the same intensity. If you thought you know the stakes and could win, take a deeper accounting.
