Away We Go. Poem by Bailey Burris

Away We Go.

Rating: 5.0

As days become numbers,
And my love fades away
The memory of you
Always will stay

I’ve found another
Who is bright as the day
He’s quick with his words
But nothing has changed

He knows how to talk
His rhymes do his walk
He’ll buy me a ring
But my heart is on block

Cuz everywhere I go
I only see your name
And every time I dream
Your face is not the same

I fear of this distance
There is nothing for me to gain
Will I keep going on
Just playing this silly game

Is there a way
I can fast forward the days
Till I don’t hear your name
Till I don’t miss your face

Is there a chance
Things will be the same
Should I keep holding on
Or let you fade away?
