Awaiting Your Return Poem by Rick Elpers

Awaiting Your Return

Yet today I'm overcome
Still at the disappearance
Of your need  in my life
Even at such a distance
I treasure your love
As though you were beside me
With our conversation
open to even the mundane and depth
That we seek to insure a bond
So close our separation is a mere
Trifle owing to no bounded limits
But reaches far and above
All space to where there is no
difference to fear unwanted
Intrusion by the world
and it's desire to have our hearts
So I await your word calm and anxious
with my heart in your hands
Trusting you
