At The Trailhead Poem by Jesse Swedlund

At The Trailhead

Rating: 5.0

You stand at the trailhead, a new trip to depart,
And the trees seem to march to the beat of your wild heart
Down a winding trail, a river, stream, or shore,
You wonder what lies behind this adventure's door.
A retreat to the natural world, a retreat to the real you,
But when you come back, this way of life doesn't have to be through,
So stand at the trailhead, a new journey everyday,
'Don't be still, but go, go, go! ' is what the wise ones say.
Looking down the winding path of life you can't be sure what you'll see,
So make your life one big trip, let your soul be wild and free.

As an older naturalist myself, you've done well to explain those early feelings of excitement for what a new trail may bring... safe travels.
