As Life Changes Poem by Aurora Andersch

As Life Changes

As life changes in an instant
It's hard to see the changes
It was so fast with so much to remember
It was hard to breath and hard to see
I felt that it was finally the loss I had been dreading
I felt that I was losing myself quickly
Faster than ever before
She was finally leaving
Taking something of me with her
Yet leaving something of her with me
As I was seeing her leaving
I really didn't have the chance to say goodbye
Tear burning my throat
Blurring my vision
I was losing the one I loved
To a demon who we couldn't defeat
The doctors did there best
There should have been more to say
More memories to make
Yet it was her time
The last thing we had
Were those last words
Goodbye Grandma, I love you
And I love you too...
