As Covid-19 Lingers Poem by Ray Hansell

As Covid-19 Lingers

I'm doing what most people are doing
Passing the days cooped up in my home
Like everybody else
I'm wondering, when I can go out and roam

The days have dragged into weeks
People getting tired of it all
They wonder if and when
All of these restrictions will fall

This has been a management failure
In hundred different ways
It hasn't gotten better
With the passing of the days

People who should be quiet
Are the one's most often talking
They could do us all a favor
To turn around and take off walking

The news channels are no different
They exist to create fear
All they want are rating
Because that's what they hold dear

They don't care about us
Or the misinformation that they spread
I think they get enjoyment
Reporting that more people are dead

Soon this will be all over
No longer the topic of the day
So many will be happy
When it all fades away
