As a slothful indulgent nation
is invaded by a robust people
so invade my life, God
and bring the discipline of love
where the flesh is lax—
help me live each moment
with all the resources
you have given.

As cloth is changed by dye
each fiber drinking color
so change me
so I will not be ashamed
so every thought word deed
will be colored by your stain.

Life is rushing by.
It hurts to think of times
I failed you.
Invade my life, God
thoroughly color it
so in everything I do
I might bring glory and honor
to your name.
