As A Child -Ii Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

As A Child -Ii

As a child
I have raised my hands
And held stars
Within my tiny palms!
But I now know
With passing time
That such a thing is impossible
And so I now stand alone
All alone
Bereft of my starry companions!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
As children our mind flutters like a butterfly and courts dreams. But as we grow into adult many such dreams melts away just like the snow under the bright sun.

A sad, nostalgic truth. If only we could keep that magic of childhood alive...I very much enjoyed reading this poem!
